This course surveys the various communication disorders and serves as an introduction to the field of Speech and Language Pathology. This course will count as LBC credit for group IV, Career and Professional Development since one of the requirements is an outside observation of Speech-Language Pathologists in various settings (private practice, public schools, healthcare settings) providing services to individuals with various types of communication disorders. Students submit a written reflection on the observation experience and are required to obtain the signature and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national certification number of the person being observed.
