The Bachelor of Arts in French is designed for students who want to enrich their lives with an in-depth knowledge of French culture, literature, and language. It is meant to encourage the dissemination of knowledge of the French-speaking world on and off campus and encourage reciprocal communication between people worldwide.
Learn
You will learn the skills and knowledge needed to function in a global environment and professional dealings. You will hone your language skills to reach a level of competence that will allow you to handle many real-life situations at an advanced level confidently. You will also discover some of the most distinctive aspects of Hispanic culture and civilization. The program offers learning experiences by studying abroad and in local, multicultural, and international internships.
Opportunities
With a BA in French, you will find opportunities in areas such as international careers, health, and social services, translation and interpretation agencies, the fields of international communication and information services, science, the arts, education, foreign service, government, business – particularly the automotive industry in Michigan – banking, and tourism. A major in French will allow you to continue in many graduate programs.
