Rationale for Knowledge of the Disciplines -
As a language course sequence, GERN 233L5 and GERN 234 are designed to develop and improve students’ language skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) at an intermediate level. The contents of the course enable the students to develop an appreciation and understanding of other cultures (German-speaking countries of Europe), in the domains of literature, films, the arts, as well as linguistic, cultural and societal differences. Students are expected to express their knowledge and understanding of these topics in German at an intermediate level of proficiency.
