PHY 450 Electricity and Magnetism II A brief review of electrostatics and magnetostatics. The following topics will be covered: Faraday’s Law, displacement current, Maxwell’s equations, Poynting vector, plane wave solutions, polarization, wave propagation in dielectrics and conductors, dispersion, Fresnel’s equations, guided waves, dipoleradiation, Lienard-Wiechert potentials, and radiation theory.
