ECE 301 Intentional Teaching in Early Childhood Education

The content of the course will focus on implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum in programs for young children. In addition to the course, the students will participate in an early childhood practicum/lab one day per week for three hours to gain practical experience working with pre-kindergarten-age children.

Prerequisites -
Restriction by Major - Elementary - Early Childhood Teaching and Learning (with Certification) [BS], Children and Families [BS]
Restriction by Class - Sophomore standing or above

Additional Information -

Students in the Children and Families [BS] or Elementary - Early Childhood Teaching and Learning (with Certification) [BS] must take ECE 314/ECE 300 before ECE 301.
To gain practical experience related to the course content, students must register for a practicum/lab in a pre-kindergarten classroom (once a week for three hours). Additional details, including the necessary paperwork to complete before beginning the practicum, can be found on the Early Childhood Education website.
